ALFI Membership in other industry bodies

With the aim to enhance the Luxembourg fund industry’s voice when it comes to shape the relevant supranational regulatory framework and to support the promotion of selected business areas, ALFI has committed to several international organisations, with the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) at the forefront.

EFAMA is the representative association for the European investment management industry. Amongst other things, the association’s mission is to enhance the smooth functioning of a European single market for investment management and a level playing field for saving and investment products, as well as to promote the European asset management and fund industry on a European and worldwide level.

While EFAMA is the uncontested voice of the European fund industry, the International Investment Funds Association (IIFA) represents the interests of the global industry. Similar to EFAMA, the IIFA, which is headquartered in Toronto (Canada) strives to facilitate the growth of the investment funds industry internationally.

ALFI’s membership in the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), the leading non-profit organisation dedicated to increasing the scale and effectiveness of impact investing, demonstrates the Luxembourg fund industry’s commitment to deepening its engagement in the responsible and impact investing area.

As it believes in the future development of pan European pension funds, ALFI has joined PensionsEurope (the former European Federation for Retirement Provision - EFRP). This only European federation that focuses exclusively on pensions strives to contribute to developing an EU framework that facilitates workplace pensions in Europe.

ALFI is furthermore a cooperation partner of FIAP (International Federation of Pension Funds Administrators) to follow the debates and issues related to the development of private pension systems in the world.

Active in investor education projects, starting with May 2018, ALFI has become an affiliate member of the International Network on Financial Education (INFE). Affiliate member status is reserved for non-governmental, not-for-profit organisations, academia, industry associations, or foundations, with an interest in financial literacy and education.
